If you have already cracked the basics, then this trip is the perfect way to extend your paddling, and to explore the coastline from a very different perspective.
£90 Non-residential Time: 0900-1700 (Sat)
This day paddle is an excellent first full day trip. Following the coastline from Calshot you will have excellent views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. En route there will be plenty to see, including racing yachts, commercial vessels and if lucky a close up view of an ocean liner. If time permits we will explore the entrance of the Beaulieu River. Lunch will be taken ashore before the return journey. This trip covers about seven miles. You should provide a packed lunch and drinks for this trip.
Pre-course experience – you should have completed a BCU One Star course and an Introduction to Sea Kayaking day, or be of equivalent standard, before booking this course.

Aloha! to the sport of outrigger canoeing.
Hugely popular in Hawaii, the west coast
of the United States and Australia, this
is
a little seen sport in the UK.
Join one of our half day courses to experience a very different and exciting form of paddle sport.
No previous canoeing experience is required to paddle these stable six person boats, which are great fun, good exercise and a little bit different.
Once you have experienced a taster session why not join our day adventure within the Solent, weather permitting we might even make the Isle of Wight. Be ready for a few strange looks though!
£90 Non residential includes lunch Time: 0900-1700
Not sure which watersport is for you? Then this is the perfect course for you. You’ll have a chance to try dinghy sailing, windsurfing and kayaking, all under the guidance of an experienced instructor. You will discover the fun and exhilaration of dinghy sailing aboard a Laser Funboat. After a quick change over, you will soon be trying your hand at windsurfing using our light and stable beginners equipment. Depending upon condition you will then have a chance to kayak either on the sea or in our fresh water canoe pool.
At the end of this action packed day you should know which sport is for you and be ready to book a full beginners course.

We offer kayaking courses based on the BCU junior coaching scheme ‘Paddlepower’. Operating in two age groups, 7-11 and 11-16, we introduce children to the fun and excitement of paddling their own boat. Instruction takes place in the sheltered waters around Calshot Spit or in our outdoor canoe pool. With a maximum instructor to student ratio of 1:8 each child will get plenty of feedback and guidance. With lots of games and activities it won’t be long before the group are setting off on their first mini adventure!

We are able to organise courses at Levels One, Two and Three of the new BCU coaching scheme. If you are interested in attending a coaching course please contact our bookings department who will be able to advise you of planned courses or register your interest.
We are able to offer a range of coaching and higher level courses. For these courses we operate a waiting list and run courses on demand rather than programme set dates. If you are interested please contact our Bookings staff. We will contact you with possible dates when we have enough candidates to run a course.
Alternatively, organise your own group (minimum group size 4) and we will run a course just for you. Please contact us for further details.
