Emergency First Aid Courses at Calshot
Day 1: 9.00am to 5.30pm
Day 2: 9.00am to 5.00pm
First aid training at Calshot is provided through Rescue and Emergency Care and Intermediate Temporary Care. REC and ITC are HSE approved national organisations qualifying instructors, coaches and others working outdoors to provide emergency training to HSE standards.
The emphasis is always on practical skills. The courses are scenario-based, jargon-free with opportunities to practice outdoors.
Please note that you during these practice scenarios you will practice on others and be practiced on!
Please also come with warm outdoor clothing and robust footwear.
No previous training is required for this course. This course is designed to teach basic first aid and is recognised by the RYA, MLTB, BCU, BASI, BOF and most other governing bodies. The course covers:
Vital Signs
Emergency procedure
Collapse & unconsciousness
Choking
Drowning
Bleeding
Rescue breathing & CPR
Shock
Fractures, Dislocations
Spinal Injury
Hypothermia
Triage
Continuous Assessment takes place during this course. It is essential that you attend all of the course. Non-attendance for any part may mean that a certificate cannot be issued.
