Key Stage 1 - 2Key Stage 1 Adventure DaysAt Key Stage One, an exciting and challenging day can be planned, aiming to encourage young children to become increasingly independent and self confident, as well as learning respect and caring for each other. Through a variety of physical or environmental activities we aim to encourage team work. Many teachers see real benefits back in the classroom from a challenging ‘Day Outdoors’ with this age group. KS 1 Adventurous Activities KS 1 Field Studies Key Stage Two Residential VisitsMany schools enjoy bringing their Key Stage Two children for a taste of a variety of activities. All sessions are structured for maximum participation. Children are taught about safety and allowed to experience the sense of responsibility which goes with this new knowledge. When climbing, children are taught to belay (manage the safety rope under supervision), so everyone takes an active role at all times. In all activities we recognise the importance of suitable equipment. For example, in windsurfing, special lightweight junior rigs allow pupils to learn quickly. On these courses the aim is not to produce future champions, but to foster teamwork and self reliance through the introduction of new and exciting sports.
